Welcome to the McQueen Choir Parents
Northwest Reno is extremely fortunate to have some of the best musical programs in the country and presents a top set of programs in WCSD year in and year out. The McQueen Choir Parent's organization was created to support the efforts of Maribeth Burt and the students of McQueen Choir to perform at the highest levels they wish to pursue.
Choir Parents provide fundraising and event support and the more parents who take an active role, the better. We are a group of committed people who are using our gifts, abilities, contacts, and expertise to promote the choir program at the school and within the community. We need more willing hands as well as fresh perspectives and new ideas.
Choir Parent board meetings are open to the public and we'd love to have you join us.
Please note: If you would like to see the minutes of any of our meetings, please email our Secretary Natalie Waldman and she'll take care of you.
To build and encourage a united, supportive parent community for its choral programs and provide a network of communication between parents, director, and school administration. Assistance is provided in the acquisition of music, equipment, facilities, and additional music opportunities, in providing outreach to the community and feeder schools to foster growth of the program; in sponsoring special events and activities; and in furnishing banquets, scholarships and awards as recognition of choral achievements of the area’s choral musicians. It is contrary to our purpose to interfere or intervene in the administration of the public school choral programs and its teaching philosophies or techniques.
